Executive Board Positions

These Executive Board positions are voted on at General Membership meetings.

Board Chair Positions

These positions can be appointed by the incoming President.

Arts in Education: This person will oversee the Reflections Art contest that runs August through November.

Bilingual Coordinator: This person would help translate our flyers into other languages mostly the Spanish language.

Book Fair & Library Assistant Chair: Assists the Librarian with shelving books, coordinating the reading logs parties, and helping with any parties.

Communications Chair: Make a monthly newsletter to ensure all PTA members are aware of what is happening in the school, help keep website and Facebook pages updated.

Community Outreach Coordinator: Coordinate with the Programs VP to ensure our Title I sister school has successful supply drives and we get more community members to join our PTA with a $10 donation.

Education Rewards Committee Chair: Manage and submit (when necessary) collection sheets for rewards programs. Box Tops will still require a physical submission.

Environmental Awareness Chair: Ensure the PTA is sharing with all students conservation tips.

Fall Fundraising Chair: This person helps the VP of Fundraising with the details, planning, and execution of the Fall Fundraiser.

5th Grade Event Coordinator: This person coordinates the PTA’s portion of 5th grade promotion event.

Healthy Lifestyles Chair: This person will submit healthy suggestions for newsletters and do holiday break fitness challenges.

Historian: Collect photos all year and build a scrapbook.

Hospitality Chair: This person will request donations of food and provide refreshments for all PTA events and staff meals.

Legislative Action Chair: This person will help build and lead an advocacy program at Kay Franklin Elementary.

NISD PTA Council Delegate: This person would attend one meeting at the Northside Activity Center (NAC) every other month on the first Thursday of that month at 7 pm.

Parliamentarian: This person ensures we are following Robert’s Rules of Order. He or she will also undertake the committee to update the Bylaws should that be necessary.

Picture Day Coordinator: This person helps during all picture day events to help coordinate and keep classes moving swiftly throughout the day.

Spring Fundraising Chair: This person helps the VP of Fundraising with the details, planning, and execution of the Spring Fundraiser.

Staff Appreciation Coordinator: This person would coordinate staff events to make the teachers and staff at Kay Franklin Elementary feel appreciated.

Top Dog: This Dad will oversee all of the Watch DOGS and encourage more Dads to volunteer and participate at the school.
